The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is the world's oldest international writing competition for schools, established in 1883.

With thousands of young people taking part each year, it is an important way to recognise achievement, elevate youth voices and develop key skills through creative writing.

We are delighted to be supported by Cheshire College South and West, and particularly by Jasbir Dhesi, the Principal and Chief Executive, who is also a Director of the Cheshire Commonwealth Association.

Education - Teacher Resources

As well as encouraging trade and business growth opportunities with the Commonwealth, we want to ensure that the Commonwealth is celebrated across Cheshire.  At the CCA, we aim to help increase educational awareness of the Commonwealth amongst our young people.

We have created two download kits of educational resources for the classroom for both primary and secondary education settings.

Primary Commonwealth Educational Pack

The Commonwealth primary educational pack is a resource for teachers and leaders.

Designed to be fun for primary age children, the pack guides them through some important areas of the Commonwealth - helping them to understand how we are one big family.

Secondary Commonwealth Educational Pack

The Commonwealth secondary educational pack is a resource for teachers and leaders.

The course covers a wide range of Commonwealth subject areas, and will enable young people to learn about the Commonwealth and its values.
